Sunrise in Homer, AK

Each community in Alaska seems to have its own unique feel and Homer is no different. It is this beautiful community built on the hillside next to Kachemak Bay. Looking across the bay from Homer you are treated to a stunning view of the Kenai Mountains which are part of the Kenai Fjords National Park. One of Homer’s unique traits is its spit, which extends 4.5 miles into the bay. At the end of this spit is where I found myself early one morning back in February and was treated to a spectacular sunrise. The first imagine was taken right at the beginning of sunrise, while the one below that was taken about an hour later. Both images were taken at the end of the spit but the were taken facing different areas.
