So for the next couple of days I have a set of posts about a wonderful local attraction. This great experience occurs on Seward Highway just south of Girdwood, AK. It is the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center , a place that takes care of injured wildlife from the area and at the same time provides an opportunity for the public to observe these amazing animals in a natural environment. Although it fluctuates they have a varied group of animals that can range the gauntlet of Alaskan wildlife: moose, caribou, elk, grizzly bears, black bears, musk ox, wood bison, and more. This center is a great place for all as you are welcome to drive to each exhibit or feel free to stroll through the center on foot. I spent the morning strolling through the center and had the pleasure of watching their trio of grizzlies cool themselves in their pond. The next couple of posts will show you some of the fun they had.
