While out on a fishing trip my daughter, who is lovingly referred to as our Sassy Wood Nymph, went exploring in the woods behind where the manchild was fishing. Our daughter has always been comfortable in the woods and often disappears into them for as long as I will allow. So it was a surprise when a short time later she came running back to me saying she had found a beaver. So I grabbed my camera and followed her as she dove back into the woods and sure enough on a little creek that feeds into the marsh there was a beaver busy chewing away at foliage. We were probably about 5 feet from him but he wasn’t bothered by us a bit. It was such a great moment to be able to sit on the shore with my daughter while we watched one of this amazingly industrious animals at work.
